On April 28, 1998, Ask Amy, a question-and-answer column for kids about the Web, part of www.4kids.org, responded to a question about graphics by pointing folks to WebFX website (a cool graphics tool you use over the web). Here's what she said in her article (image) (website):
Dear Amy: Where can I get some cool graphics on the Web? - Arnold, St. Paul, MN
Dear Arnold: Check out Bill Kendricks' WebFX at http://zippy.sonoma.edu/kendrick/webfx/. It's a busy site because it's so awesome. WebFX allows visitors to create online images with dozens of cool graphic filters. You just enter the URL of an image that is already on the Web and then chose one of the special effects, such as embossing or pointillism. Some of the effects, such as "wavey" and "swirl," are animated gifs that will move. You can even e-mail the image to yourself after you look at it. If it's busy, check out the examples or some of the other stuff Bill has done. Thanks Amy!
