TOWERS

How To Play

Tower of Hanoi is a game where you have three pegs and five discs. The discs are stacked up, largest on the bottom, smallest on the top, on one of the pegs.

It's your job to move the entire stack, one disc at a time, onto another peg. Remember, you can only place smaller discs on bigger discs!

History

While it has been believed that the game "Tower of Hanoi" was created in ancient India, it seems more likely that the game was created from scratch by the French mathematician Edouard Lucas, in 1883. (The original was called "La Tour D'Hanoi," or "Tower of Hanoi," and used only one peg.)
